Journey To Homeownership

Your Home Loan Roadmap

Navigate the path to owning your home with ease. Our step-by-step guide outlines each phase of the mortgage process, from initial application to the moment you hold the keys.

Step By Step Process

Step 1: Pre-qualification and Pre-approval

Start by getting pre-qualified to estimate how much you might be able to borrow. Follow up with a pre-approval, where lenders verify your financial information to provide a more concrete loan offer. This step shows sellers you're serious about buying.

Step 2: Loan Application

Once you’ve found a property and have a purchase agreement, fill out a loan application form. You’ll need to provide detailed information about your finances and the property.

Step 3: Gather Your Documents

Ready your financial documents for review. This typically includes recent pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, and identification. Check our Application Checklist for a detailed list of what you’ll need.

Step 4: Loan Processing

The lender will process your application by verifying all the information provided. This includes checking your credit score, employment status, and financial history.

Step 5: Home Appraisal

The lender will order an appraisal to determine the property’s value. This ensures the home is worth the loan amount.

Step 6: Underwriting

This is where your loan application is evaluated in detail. The underwriter reviews all data to ensure compliance with lending guidelines and assesses the risk of lending to you.

Step 7: Loan Approval

If everything is in order, your loan will be approved. You’ll receive a loan commitment letter stating the terms and conditions of the mortgage.

Step 8: Closing

The final step in the mortgage process. You'll meet with various parties involved in the transaction to sign documents, pay closing costs, and finalize the mortgage. Once completed, you will officially own your home!
